This way, we are promoting the preservation and revitalisation of small local economy, our guests can taste food that is typical for our area and the ingredients are produced locally.
** Škofja Loka as the best preserved medieval town in Slovenia is famous not only for its rich history, but also has a rich culinary legacy of our ancestors. Medieval cuisine is based mainly on grain and flour-based dishes, but today they are prepared in a modern way.
*** Škofja Loka is the town of Passion Play. In 1721, Father Romuald wrote the oldest preserved dramatic text in Slovenian language named Škofjeloški pasijon (The Passion of Škofja Loka). Before Easter every few years, the streets of Škofja Loka are alive with the images of the passion play. Because of this, we have prepared a Passion menu, which is based on fasting dishes.
